India is home to some of the world's biggest companies, but it's also home to some of the world's biggest philanthropists.

Business Insider lists 20 of the best philanthropic companies in India in 2023, based on their social impact, financial commitment, and sustainability.

The top 5: Tata Trusts: The Tata Group, one of India's largest conglomerates, is one of the oldest and most respected philanthropic organizations in India.

Its philanthropic arm, the Tata Trusts, has been "at the forefront of several initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of marginalized communities," per BI.

Reliance Foundation: One of India's largest conglomerates, the Reliance Foundation focuses on education, health, and rural development in India.

Wipro Foundation: The Wipro Foundation focuses on education, health, and livelihoods in India.

Azimji Foundation: The Azimji Foundation has been involved in the development of low-cost housing solutions, providing access to clean drinking water, and promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
