Larry Fitzgerald'S Philanthropic Triumph: Fitz'S Supper Club Raises $1 Million

Larry Fitzgerald, Jr.'s mother, died of breast cancer when the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver was in college, and the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation was established in her name to raise money for youth education and breast cancer awareness.

Now, more than 20 years later, the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation has raised more than $1 million at its 13th annual Fitz's Supper Club charity dinner and auction, the Phoenix New Times reports.

"It really warms my heart to see so many people who genuinely care about our community and are eager to give back," Danielle Frost, executive director of the foundation, says in a press release.

Some of the money will go to putting technology labs in schools, as well as funding after-school programs for at-risk youth.

"I really enjoy seeing young people in the computer room or art class or doing research on history to write a term paper," Fitzgerald tells the New Times.

"That gets me excited because I see the growth in young people, and that's what the Foundation is meant to invest in."
