When Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Ky., opens its doors in 2023, it will mark its 60th anniversary.

To mark the occasion, the hospital has received a $60,000 donation from Stock Yards Bank & Trust, WDRB reports.

The money will be used to fund "high-priority clinical and educational initiatives," per a press release.

"This organization has truly changed the face of Eastern Kentucky through a legacy of compassionate health care," says Benjamin Caudill of Stock Yards Bank & Trust.

The release notes that each of the hospital's two new academic scholarships will be awarded to a student seeking a degree in the medical field, with an offer of employment once the student has completed his or her degree.

"Each of these innovative awards is valued at $10,000 and comes with an offer of employment from St.Claire upon the recipient's completion of the degree," says Mindy Highley of the St.Claire HealthCare Foundation.

"We are proud to continue to support the strong mission that St.Claire has carried out for decades."
