Virginia's I-66 Express Lanes opened a year ago, and they're already causing major headaches for drivers in northern Virginia, CBS News reports.

According to a Virginia Department of Transportation press release, the " dynamic tolled managed lanes of 66 Express Outside the Beltway are designed to maintain average speeds of at least 55mph at all times, every day and night.

As traffic within a segment increases, toll rates increase correspondingly; as traffic abates, toll rates decrease correspondingly."

And that's not all.

Drivers in Fauquier County have been complaining about the tolling since it began, CBS reports.

According to the Virginian-Pilot, drivers there say the toll is too high and they're forced to slow down to 55mph to avoid paying the toll.

And that's not the only thing they're complaining about.

"I don't care how much it costs," a driver in Fauquier tells CBS.

"I'm not sitting on 66."
