Hope School Receives $9,000 Stem and Robotics Grant from Aep Swepco

Beryl Henry Elementary School in Hope, Ark., is getting a big boost in its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs thanks to a $9,000 grant from the American Electric Power Foundation, KAIT reports.

The money will be used to start a new science lab at the school.

"By nurturing a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, we're hopeful this grant will encourage these scholars to be creative, to stretch their skills in science, math, and technology, and to explore STEM careers and have the potential to shape the future of STEM industries including the future of energy," aSWEPCO External Affairs manager says in a press release.

The school plans to use the money to expand its robotics and engineering programs.
