Usopc Launches Us$500M Fundraising Campaign Ahead of La28 Games

"100% of your donation supports athletes on their journey to perform at their peak and to support them after their Olympic or Paralympic journey is complete."

That's the lofty goal of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee's philanthropic arm, the US Olympic & Paralympic Foundation, which is hoping to raise $500 million before the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.

The One for All: The Campaign for Team USA page, which allows one-off and monthly donations, was launched just in time for the Paris 2024 Games, which will see around 4,000 to 6,000 US athletes vie for places at the Summer and Winter Games.

The USOPC, a non-profit, does not receive federal government funding, and the USOPF, which was established in 2013, has raised more than $370 million so far.

The funds raised will go toward three key areas: athlete health and wellness, sport performance innovation, and athlete career and earnings.

"Our goal is to raise the bar for Team USA, ensuring our athletes have the resources and support they need to excel during every step of their journey on their way to the world stage," Christine Walshe, president of the USOPF, says in a press release.
