New Hanover Community Endowment has enough money to give every person in New Hanover County about $220.
Leaders also unveiled a new system called the a€˜Grants Rainbow.
It includes six tiers of funding, ranging from $5,000 community grants to much larger awards that board members call social impact investing.
The endowment wants to be clear it is focused on transformational change.
