Lynn Booth and her husband, Kent Kresa, recently announced a $50 million commitment to the California Institute of Technology.
The gift, announced in late December, represents one of the largest investments in Caltech's aerospace programming to date.
It formalizes the elevation of aerospace from a program into a standalone academic department, fitting for a school that also administers and manages the famed nearby Jet Propulsion Laboratories for NASA.
